An OBD2 male adapter is a plug with 16 pins conforming to the SAE J1962 / OBD-II standard. It’s designed to plug into a vehicle’s female OBD2 diagnostic port (under the dashboard) to connect diagnostic tools, CAN bus readers, tune boxes, or custom wiring. This connector is the standard for most cars and light trucks manufactured after 1996.
